Arigato!

Since we've gotten here, people have invariably asked us if Connor speaks English or Japanese. Come on, he's barely a year old, he speaks the universal language of babies! He doesnt even say mama or dada.
But today it amuses me to report, he attempted his first word in Japanese - arigato - which all of you smart folks know means Thank You.
I didnt think he knew what it meant - how could he know? - but I just gave him a cookie and he said "A-to." He's said it a lot. I imagine he's heard it a lot. It is a fun word to say. (Elizabeth)
