Celebrity

The funniest thing happened around noon today. Joe was going out, and Connor was standing in the front window waiting to wave good-bye to him. Our section of the street is a rather busy interchange, with many people, bicycles, cars, and trucks passing by constantly, and watching all of this activity from the window has been a favorite pastime of Connor’s lately.
I was looking for Joe to emerge from around the corner, when something to the right caught my eye. Out of nowhere it seemed, a whole bevy of photographers had appeared and were taking pictures of Connor! I opened the window to provide a better view, and Connor smiled and waved. Joe managed to record the moment on camera himself (as you see here).
The group was comprised of about five or six older men. "Camera club!" one of them exclaimed. And thanks to Joe's Japanese, we learned that they were from Osaka. After a round of arigato and the customary kawaii na, they went on their way, as did Joe. They left before Connor could give his speech entitled, "Eto, ano, ato." (Translated as: "Well, um, thank you").
