Birthday Party

Pictures were taken. Cupcakes and ice cream were consumed. Presents were opened. Many presents.
Yesterday he even got presents in the mail. He is now the happy owner of a Winnie-the-Pooh book written entirely in Greek. What Connor loves about it, is that music plays when he pushes certain round buttons on the side. When we first unwrapped the package, and he saw that it was Winnie-the-Pooh, Tigger, and Piglet (characters he recognizes), his eyes lit up. When we opened the book and he saw the characters pop out, his jaw dropped open. When music began playing, he was ecstatic. This book, while we can only guess at the story line based on the pictures, combines two elements much loved by Connor: round buttons, and music, and especially round buttons that play music when pressed. And who knows, maybe it will be his inspiration to learn modern Greek someday? It is great, thanks, Maria.
Connor and I have officially secured passage to Japan. We leave in one week. Lots to do before then.
More one-year milestone notes: Connor is saying some simple words like "dog" and "ball," both of which he enjoys. He loves being outdoors. He is so on the verge of walking, but sits when you release his hands. He still has four teeth, two on top and two on bottom. He is finally getting the upper hand in his battle with dry skin.
What am I going to do on a 14-hour flight with him?
What will he think of Japan?
