Connor 1.5

Connor has well passed the year and a half mark and is really thriving. He can say many words, so every day is like the Naming Game: “Bird!” “Dog!” “Girl!” and his current obsession, “Umbrella!” He knows several letters, several colors, and most shapes. He enjoys playing with blocks, books, bike rides, slides at the playground, and watching kids’ programming on TV. (Yes, we reneged on our vow that he wouldn’t watch television until age 2. But, it’s educational, in Japanese with some English, and slow paced: kids crawling around, dancing, eating, brushing their teeth, and putting on pajamas.) He's in pre-potty training and his newest Japanese word is dozo, which means something like, "Here you are." He’s very friendly, helpful, good-natured, well-balanced, generally reasonable, and entertainably goofy. It’s amazing how much he’s grown in the seven months we’ve been here – from a baby into a little boy. Stay tuned for Connor 2.0, to be rolled out later in the year!
